Pack opening works best as a small routine, not a race. Set up a clear space, decide who opens which pack, and keep wrappers and inserts in one pile. The goal is to enjoy the pull and keep the cards and toys in good condition.

Before anyone tears foil, agree on a few basics: who gets duplicate cards, how trades are handled, and where loose pieces go. Write it down if the group is large or young. A short checklist on your phone is enough.

Set up before the first pack

Clear a table and remove drinks, crumbs, and pets from the area. Wash and dry your hands. Put sleeves, a binder, a small tray for wrappers, and a phone checklist within reach. If you are recording, set the camera first so you are not handling cards one-handed. Keep small toy parts in a shallow bowl as they come out.

Open slowly and track what you pull

Tear along the seam or use blunt scissors kept away from the card edge. Do not bend cards to check rarity. As each pack is opened, sort items into three piles: keep, trade, and play. Sleeve cards you want to protect and mark duplicates on a checklist or app. Bag tiny toy pieces right away. Keep any inserts or wrappers you collect in one folder or envelope.

Share the table, not the mess

Take turns and announce pulls instead of grabbing across the table. Set the trade rule before the first pack: duplicates go to a trade pile, and no one trades until the session ends. If children are opening, an adult handles scissors and small parts. Finish by returning cards to binders, bagging loose pieces, and recycling wrappers you are not keeping.

Should I open packs with other people?

Yes, if you agree on space, turns, and duplicate rules first. A clear table and a shared trade pile prevent most disagreements.

What should I keep from a pack?

Keep the cards you want, plus any inserts, wrappers, or checklists you collect. Bag small toy parts and label the bag if needed.

How do I handle duplicates?

Put them in a separate trade pile as you open. Mark them on a checklist or app so you do not lose track.

Is it okay to open packs quickly?

Speed matters less than a clean space. Open slowly enough to avoid bending cards or scattering small pieces.
